Week 4

Image
In this week, the group began finalizing the project after a successful testing of the circuit and made sure everything was working properly. Also, the team finished working on the PCB design to include in the poster, a 3D design have been made as well.Work on the presentation started, where the poster and other forms had to be completed.  The final circuit and the testing video is shown below. PCB and 3D design is shown below as well.

Week 3

After many trials, and testing, the circuit is now functioning properly, the team solved the coding issue, the gas sensor had a particular  threshold value that the team was missing. The red LED and the buzzer will be ON if the sensor value is more than 400 which is the threshold value.  The testing was done using a normal lighter which had butane gas. Other types of gases were not used due to safety reasons. (sensor testing)

Week 2

The group went to the lab to check the missing component which was the gas sensor but there was a mistake and the component did not arrive. So one of the members asked the lab technician for spare parts, and he provided with one. The group immediately started to build the circuit,  When the circuit was finished, testing begun. At first, nothing was functioning properly as the code written in the Arduino had to be adjusted, the circuit was built but without function. Further work had to be done to the code.  Components used in the circuit will be shown below.

Week 1

During the first week, the members of the group held a meeting to start the project work, the group established the roles for every member.  Mohammed Alguhrair - Designer  Rashid Alsumait- Implementer , developer  Ahmed Alshamari - Project manager, technincal writer   The team researched on detection systems to have an idea to start building the project. The team was asked to collect the components, however there was a component missing due to an error in the ordering form, so the work had to wait till next week to start implementing the ideas and designs on real components.
